Tip #01: No “Wrong” Words So many people new to tapping get wrapped up in having the perfect words to say. They learn the points, start listening to audio sessions, and have a pretty good idea of where they would like to use Energy Tapping to make improvements in their life. But they don't act. They feel so stymied about where to start and what to say that they don't tap. I'm here to tell you... there are no "wrong" words when they come from within YOU. How is that possible? Let me explain.
Tip #02: I Keep Judging Myself! What do you do if your self-judgment gets in the way of tapping? It isn’t fun to do something when you are constantly feeling criticized! There is no judge here. No one is grading you. If you are grading you, now is a great time to learn to be gentle with yourself. You can't get it wrong! Your technique will become more to your liking over time and with practice. So sit back and enjoy the process, both the learning and the feelings. And if that seems as possible as flying to the moon...
Tip #03: I Can’t Say “I Love and Accept Myself”! What if I can’t say the phrase “I deeply and completely love and accept myself”? Will Energy Tapping still work for me? First, know that a lot of people have that problem in the beginning. It gets easier as you tap away the reasons you feel unacceptable and unlovable. There are several options...
Tip #04: Opposite Hand Tapping Try tapping with your non-dominant hand. This allows you to more fully integrate the emotional material that you are working on. We usually favor one side, tending to be right-handed or left-handed. Making use of the "other" hand while tapping through emotional conflicts can help to more fully neutralize the issues.
Tip #05: Try a Nurturing Location Sometimes when we try to use Energy Tapping (or even relax and unwind) in the same space that holds a lot of emotional "charge" for us, it can interfere with our focus. So, experiment with new places and see if you notice a difference. For example, find a park and lean against a tree. Feel its support while you tap. Find water, and watch the water while you tap. Get up early and find a place where you can see the sunrise, and tap.
Tip #06: Good Morning, God (Universe, Source, Divine) Whether you study the Law of Attraction or just want to feel better about the life you have, setting intentions and being grateful for the good in your life is a powerful start. And tapping while you do that can intensify the good feelings. You don’t have to be religious for this to work.
Tip #07 Look in the Mirror Watching yourself in the mirror as you tap can help you internalized the positive, improve your visualization, and notice subtle changes in your face and body as you tap.
Tip #08: Pay Attention To Your Body Paying attention to body sensations helps us shift away from "why" questions that can make emotions more intense, and helps us connect with our bodies in healthy ways.
